ABOUT ME
I grew up in Dorset and have always enjoyed being creative. From the age of 17, I funded my art studies by working in restaurants. From scrubbing pots, to designing my own plates, to head chef, I quickly fell in love with the science and the art of good food.
Cooking and my passion for food became my passport to explore. Over the years, I’ve travelled through India, Southeast Asia and Latin America, learning from the food, culture and people along the way. I’ve also worked in kitchens around the world, from high-end chalets in the Alps and boutique hotels in South Africa and Greece to luxury sailing yachts and back home in the UK in Michelin-starred restaurants in London and on the south coast.
I started The Herb Kitchen in 2014 with good friend Will Murgatroyd, then later in 2020 we co-founded The Curing Rebels, an award-winning charcuterie producer in Brighton. We’ve put our hearts into good produce, pop-ups, special collaborations and major events, My latest chapter builds on these experiences, in new arenas. Between international work, I’m based in West Sussex, close to the sea and surrounded by nature.
I love how food connects people and places, from growers and chefs, to friends and family, to memories and the moment. This is at the heart of my cooking, and always keeps me open to new ideas, opportunities and ways of bringing people together.
